Metallic Chic

Make-up Studio Winter Trend Collection 2013

Inspiration Winter 2013
In addition to the use of colour Make-up Studio observed another catwalk trend: the use of the colour blue combined with black. Metallics are also widely present, besides the appearance of gold and silver. They all come in various versions, sparkling or matt, smooth or in relief. Make-up Studio translated these trends into the Winter look ‘Metallic Chic’.

Based on these catwalk trends make-up artist Pascale Tesser created a look for Make-up Studio in which the eyes really stand out. The combination of the black and blue duo eyeshadow and silver metallics results in a beautiful glamour look. The nude lips make the eyes look even more amazing. Hair stylist Hedwich Vigelandzoon translated the hair trends (grafic lines) to a smooth side parting for the Winter look whereas stylist Tricja van den Oetelaar let the combination of black and metallics come back in the outfit.

Ready to make a fashion statement? Choose blue! Blue is called the new black and it is one of the trends this Winter. It makes you look sophisticated and in combination with black and shiny metallics you’ll feel like a true glamour queen. The cool, icy effects and sparkling colours make it perfect for a fancy diner or fabulous party, all eyes on you!

The eyes really stand out. Following the trends the new Eyeshadow Lumière Duo Mazarine Black combines deep blue with metallic black.

The Metallic Effects Silver are applied onto the eyelid. These high quality aluminium pigments have an amazing shiny effect. Create a beautiful highlight by applying them in the corner of the eyes.

With the Creamy Kohl Pencil a line is drawn onto the eyelid against the lashes. Thanks to the smooth texture of the pencil the line is easy to fade with a brush to make it softer. In addition, the silver black eyeshadow is applied onto the outer part of the eyelid up to the arcade arch for a smokey eye effect. The Creamy Kohl Pencil is also used to set a line under the eye. By drawing the line just outside the eye in an upward movement, it looks as if the eyes are lifted.

On top of the pencil line under the eye the deep blue eyeshadow is applied.

To keep the make-up in balance the lips are slightly coloured. Make-up Studio developed the special nude Lipgloss Perfectly Nude with ultra fine shimmers.

TIP for a fi nishing touch: the intense blue nail colour no. 104 with metallic finish.
