Contouring and Highlighting; Techniques to make you shine
Contouring and highlighting are techniques used to emphasize the good areas of your face. By working with a variety of dark and light makeup, you shape the face and emphasize areas of your face to make it extra noticeable or that you do not want to emphasize at all.
Which products do you use for contouring?
Make sure you have a good and rested base before starting contouring. You create an even base with foundation and concealer. For contouring, also called shaping, use dark and light powders. At Make-up Studio you will find complete shaping palettes in light and dark editions so that you have everything at hand to create a beautiful contour.
Highlighters in various editions
Highlighters are available in different variants. At Make-up Studio you will find liquid highlighters, powder highlighters, highlighter palettes, highlighter mousse and the products for strobing. Which edition you choose is often a matter of personal taste. If you have oily skin, you are more likely to choose a powder highlighter. Powder stays better on the skin and mattifies your skin. For dry skin, we recommend a liquid or cream highlighter.
Which color highlighter do you choose?
Highlighters are available in various colors and shades. The undertone of your skin determines which highlighter color suits you best. With a cool undertone, it’s better to choose a highlighter with a pink or silver shade. Yellow or gold tones look beautiful on someone with a warm undertone. At Make-up Studio you will find a large collection of highlighters in many colors.
How do you apply a highlighter?
Apply your powder highlighter with your fingers or with a special highlighter brush. You can apply cream or liquid highlighter with your fingers, a make-up sponge or a brush.
